Q :What are the differences between TPG/Soul and AAPT?

TPG/Soul offers an affordable SHDSL option to a business which is within 1.5kms of a TPG/Soul enabled telephone exchange. The TPG/Soul service is delivered using 4 wires (2 copper pairs). The TPG/Soul service is best efforts (up to 10Mbps/10Mbps). This is why we do not recommend this service if you are further than 1.5kms from the telephone exchange as speed drops off significantly at this distance. This service attracts a $1,200 installation fee but very attractive monthly charges.

If you are located further than 1.5kms from the telephone exchange we would recommend the AAPT SHDSL option. The AAPT services are provided using up to 16 wire (8 copper pairs). This means that if you are further from the telephone exchange, guaranteed speeds can still be provided. The AAPT services all attract a FREE installation fee when connecting on a 24 month term.

AAPT are willing to commit to a deliverable speed during service qualification (SQ). This means that we can advise the maximum speed available to your property.
